The Different Types of Two Way Radio

Also known as a two-way radio transceiver. These radios are used for both sending and receiving data or signals. These radios can work in analog technology or digital technology. When analog technology is used in these radios, it can be clearly transmitted even for very weak signals. However, in analog technology, only one task can be done at any one time i.e. data can be vented or received. When digital technology is used, data can be sent and received together and more data can be sent.

Do You Know the Three Types of Two-Way Radios

Bidirectional radios come in two styles. These are dual and simplex styles. On Simplex Radio, only one channel can be used at any one time. This means that only one person can send data at a time. The most popular type of Simplex radio is the Walkie Talkie. Duplex radio is one where different channels are used for data transmission. This means that at any given time, users can both send and receive data but use two different channels.

Two way radios are usually of two types. These are Family Radio Services, FRS and General Mobile Radio Services, GMRS. The family radio service is primarily used as a personal radio that offers two-way communication. The range within which these radios can operate is two miles. These two ways radios operate at very low frequencies that allow nearby people to communicate with each other. These radios are not suitable for long distance communication. These radios have special bands on which they work and are not so powerful that they can be used every day. In addition, these radios work best in the line of sight. These radios cannot work very effectively when there is no obstruction or the terrain is flat. This type of radio may not work well in the mountains. Family radio service radios are very affordable because they mainly meet the needs of the family. They also have the most suitable features for personal needs.

Ordinary mobile radio service radios are rapidly replacing family radio services. One of the main reasons for this is that ordinary mobile radio service radios can be used effectively for long range communication. These can operate within a range of 20 miles. These radios work best when there are no obstacles and the terrain is flat. These two-way radios cannot be used efficiently in mountainous areas. These radios are very powerful and most suitable for use in military organizations. These types of radios are expensive and users also need a license to operate these radios.

These radios come with many features. Most of these days the radio has a feature that says about the weather. They also have features that can be used for navigation purposes. These 2-way radios are usually easy to hold and use and operate.
